Tomato prices surpassed ₹100 per kg in Bengaluru on Tuesday, ANI reported. The surge in prices comes amid monsoon deficit this year which has resulted in short supply. Due to deficient monsoons, crops have dried up and wilted. Maharashtra has also witnessed a crop loss, which has prompted buyers from states like West Bengal and Odisha to switch to Karnataka.
