Govt starts providing free foodgrains to over 81 crore people from today

The government will provide foodgrains for free to 81.35 crore beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act starting today. Under this scheme, Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) households and Priority Household (PHH) persons will be given free foodgrains till December 2023. About 5 kg foodgrains will be allocated per month for PHH persons and 35 kg per month for AAY families.
