Twitter to allow only verified users to send DMs to nonfollowers

Twitter owner Elon Musk said the platform would "hopefully" release an update this week, which would allow only verified users to send direct messages to people who aren't following them. "It's [becoming] increasingly difficult to distinguish between AI bots. Soon, it'll be impossible," the billionaire added. Further, he claimed only those social networks will survive that require verification.
